Ceilidh for our American Visitors
The youngsters, who number some twenty young psychology students, were invited to take part in a traditional ceilidh with pupils from St Andrew's. Apart from the usual dancing, the pupils entertained the students with traditional song, poems and playlets. The Emory students in turn provided the company with a dance routine that reflected their culture and was very well received. There was much fun and laughter as the students tried to master dances such as the Gay Gordons, the Flying Scotsman and the Canadian Barn Dance (done at double quick time!). Emory University, recognized internationally as one of the top 100 universities in the world, is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The students are here to observe our education system and, in particular, how well our children learn. They will shortly be moving on to continue their studies in London and we wish them well.
